OHHHHHH Doctor!

I was thinking. The Doctor and Romana really don't ever stop loving each other, do they?

Let's go through the sequence of their relationship:

1. A godlike being assigns Romana to the Doctor as backup on a dangerous mission while posing as an important political figure.
2. Romana mocks and belittles the Doctor. He's hurt at first, but later on he seems to actually enjoy it.
3. The Doctor slowly begins to realise that Romana is brilliant and kind. Meanwhile, Romana comes to see his genuine concern for others.
4. The Doctor and Romana begin to respect and even like each other. They fall in love and start shagging like otters in heat.
5. Romana dies.
6. Romana regenerates, trying on several different forms before settling on one that she had found attractive earlier (Romana is totally bi).
7. The new incarnation of Romana is much better-disposed towards the Doctor.
8. The Doctor and Romana fall even more deliriously in love.
9. They run around Paris holding hands for no plot reason.
10. They go around on dates that invariably get ruined enhanced by demons and despots. This goes on for an indefinite span of time, perhaps as much as a hundred and fifty years.
11. Romana comes to notice a rut in their relationship.
12. Romana gets called back to Gallfirey for debriefing and panics. The Doctor is less than supportive, apparently assuming that they'll figure something out when they get there.
13. The Doctor and Romana get trapped in a pocket dimension for some time and run into an annoying kid.
14. Romana decides to stay in the pocket dimension, citing the need for some alone time.
15. The Doctor loses the will to live and soon after dies in an unrelated slip-and-fall.
16. The Doctor regenerates into Tristan Farnon.
17. Some time later, Romana returns to Gallifrey on her own accord and takes over the political system.
18. The Doctor and Romana team up when Gallifrey is threatened, angst, have really hot tension.
19. The Doctor is possessed by evil subatomic Jabberwocks and exiles himself to another universe for Romana's sake (I'm really not making any of this up).
20. Romana goes completely insane.
21. Gallifrey tears itself apart from the inside and then gets attacked by Daleks.
22. Romana gets the Hell out.
23. The Doctor comes back and destroys their planet as well as the vast majority of their species (current survivor estimates range from two to about ten, depending on the fan).
24. The Doctor goes completely insane.
25. The Doctor ANGSTS ANGSTS ANGSTS about Romana, among many other things.
26. ??????
27. PROFIT!!
