Buboes: Fourteenth-century superstars!
I just watched a documentary about the Black Death and I've fallen a little in love. I want to read (AND POSSIBLY WRITE?) much, much more about one Guy de Chauliac. I'm convinced that this man's actions (which aren't detailed in the Wikipedia article but which you can probably read about elsewhere) were among the most heroic in history, and yet nobody's ever heard of him.
