Starling Burgess McCready, better known as Tasha Tudor, is dead.

There are no words for how much this hurts me. I knew Tasha and growing up in Vermont she was one of the most important people in my life. Being in her garden helped me understand the world of plants and animals and her loving and gentle nature gave me my idea of the purpose of life. ( Read more... )

What an amazing woman. It's wonderful that you knew her.

Rest in peace, Tasha.

She really was.

Also, apropros of nothing but your icon: here's how TVTropes describes that show: 'What will come out of Naota's head next? How many double entendres and half-veiled sexual references can be packed into a single episode? How impossibly bizarre can the plot ultimately become?'

I feel that's the most accurate description of it ever.

Don't you just love that it was one of the inspirations for Avatar? Makes me view certain scenes in a very different context than I would have not knowing it.

LIKE WATERBENDING PRACTISE??

I especially love how it was meant as a vacation for the people whose brains were hurting from working on Evangelion and Anno Hideaki's only contribution was the voice of a non-anthropomorphic cat.

YESSS. AND THE SCENE IN WARRIORS OF KYOSHI WHERE THEY WASH UP ALL TANGLED TOGETHER AND THEN SHE RUNS HER FINGERS OVER HIS BARE CHEST. AND, YOU KNOW, LOTS OF OTHER VAGUELY AND NOT-SO-VAGUELY SEXUAL THINGS. OH KID'S SHOW!

I hadn't heard that before! Makes me want to watch Evangelion even more than I already did.

You haven't already???? Fuck, shizumaslover, it's Gainax mindfuckery at its most sublime and probably one of the best television shows ever made if you like that sort of thing.

INORITE?! Mindfuckery! I can't believe I haven't already seen it, either! I've always meant to, but never got around to it somehow. BUT, like I said, knowing that it comes from the same people who made Furi Curi makes THE NEED to see it so much stronger! It's moving right to the top of my Summer anime list. 8D
