There is a community organization named Hearthfires and it is best described as a pagan collective and networking organization. They hold meetings on the 1st and 3rd wednesdays of the month, the 1st being for business and the 3rd is Pagan Night Out, which is more of a social event and they usually have a presentation of some sort. They have a yahoo group and a website and one of their members holds an open public ritual either the weekend before or the weekend after each sabbat. There is also the Mid-Missouri Pagan Pride committee, which is the local chapter of a national organization. They plan fundraisers throughout the year in order to raise enough money to hold a festival and celebrate Pagan Pride Day downtown in September. There are usually a lot of pagan booths during our Earth Day festival which is downtown, on the 24th of this month I believe. And there is Sacred Ways, which is a pagan (alternative religions/new age) campus student organization open to the community and they meet every thursday night during the fall and spring semesters. There are also several pagan-friendly groups. FyreFae is a majority pagan women's sexuality collective/performance group that holds public performances around Beltane and Samhain every year. CEPE is a Columbia kink group that has many pagan members and holds regular get-togethers. And CoMoPoly is a Columbia Polyamorous group that also has several pagan members and holds monthly get-togethers. All of the above groups have yahoo groups and most have websites. There are also several covens/practicing groups, some of which are open to non-members but you'd do better to look on WitchVox for those. I'd be happy to friend you to my journal and if you are coming down to Columbia, I can let you know if there is anything going on. I'm not a member and/or active in all of the above groups but I know enough people who are that I usually know about most events. And even if there is nothing going on, I can always round up a group of pagan friends to go to the local indy movie theater or out for a cup of coffee. I hope that anwsered your question, it was certainly long enough. :)

Cool. I should be down there for my sister's graduation (law school) but probably won't have any time then, but I may be coming down sometime later in May to help them put up a fence for their dog or do some landscaping and such. I usually try to make it down there a couple times a year minimum, so any help you can give in keeping me from getting bored while visiting is much appreciated.
