I had the opportunity to visit Arizona and the Grand Canyon a little over a week or so. My cousin wanted to see the Grand Canyon and invited me along. My only regret is that we spent one hurried day--not even a whole day, at the canyon. So it's on my list of places I want to revisit. Anyway, I thought I'd share some of my photos. I have quite a few--no surprise--but I'll just share a select few.
In spite of our trip being rather hurried, we did have about an hour at Yavapai Point watching the sun go down.
This photo is important to me mostly because of what is in the far distance. We saw tantalizing glimpses of the Painted Desert, as in this view from the south rim, and it's also on my "want to see" list.
One of the things I still can't quite wrap my mind around is the sheer scale of what one sees in this photo. People told me that photos cannot beat actually seeing it, and that's true, but I still can't quite comprehend the size.
What looks like a cloud on the north rim is a controlled "burn."
I'll have more in a following post.
