US media response: "what are these 'facts' that you speak of? We have not heard of such things before. Surely, they would anger the great Ju-Ju."

Doing a search on "Palin 'fruit flies'" turns up massive numbers of hits, including a piece in Scientific American - but not many hits in the MSM. Mostly science blogs, where everyone is probably comitted already. Slate has picked it up: http://www.slate.com/id/2203120/
One mention on MSNBC apparently:
"MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann reported this, and mentioned, specifically, (Drosophila) fruit fly research at the University of North Carolina (”which is not in Paris,” Olbermann noted) that has led to advanced understanding in autism research. (We think you’ll be able to find this easily, too.)" - http://blogs.dailytarheel.com/?p=812

Someone else on my FList has the right idea - we will pay good money to the journalist who gets an answer from her as to whether she was talking about Drosophila or the Olive Fruit Fly!

...hasn't made it across my consciousness except through blogs so far. Of course, I don't get cable and avoid anything but network news 'updates' that happen while I'm watching the few TV shows I do see, and I've been avoiding TV lately too. Tonight seems to be dominated by the 'Obama assasination plot' 'story'.
