Today has been a good day so far. I woke up later than intended to meet Max at work downtown, so I simply went to his apartment instead. There's enough tomatoes and peppers to last until next week, so I don't mind missing the farmer's market too much. Bleary-eyed, I walked from my apartment to his- a couple of miles. He bought cheese danish from the bakery down the street for breakfast. I made some eggs and bowls of fruit to go with it. We watched a few episodes of Star Trek before he totally passed out for the day, having worked the night shift last night.

I walked back across the river to the Cingular store where my outrageous bill was explained to my satisfaction. I agreed to share a plan with Max again last month, so there were a number of one-time charges and a partial pro-rated month on my account. With any luck and a little competence, I'll never see a $107 cell phone bill ever again (it's $50 after taxes for two lines normally with my discount). Somehow they managed to misspell my last name and put the wrong middle initial on one line and have the correct name on the other. How that happens, I have no idea.

I went into Borders briefly but was so irritated that I left and walked to the library instead. It's dumb that tattoo magazines are filed under "Men's Interest" but it's offensive that they're placed behind pornography. Does the manager of that store find Inked to be worse than Playboy? I looked at Vogue and Cosmo at the library. They're totally guilty pleasures of mine. The periodicals area of the public library is really peaceful and bright. I still have a book and a couple of movies from the library so I didn't check anything out today. I'm reading The Eyre Affair and have been watching "Shada" - a Tom Baker Dr. Who series. I finished the Ab Fab that I checked out.

I walked home after that and here I sit now. All told, I probably walked 5.5 miles or so today. It feels good to clear out my head while slowing down and appreciating the buildings and river that I often take for granted. It's easy to let things pass you by while you're in a car.
