Additional babysitting job.

About a week ago I was just glancing over some listings of people in the Calgary area who are looking for a sitter, and one caught my eye since they had listed a main road that I'm currently living very close to. I know because I always walk the dog on that street. So I wrote to ask, out of curiosity, what days and times they are looking for a ( Read more... )

I actually don't go to church anymore because I believe the church age is over...

wow for some reason I was expecting an answer like that from you, and I sort of feel the same. I don't consider myself a 'christain' as the relgion-world likes to call it. I don't think we are labeled that way.

What exactly do you mean by 'church-age' being over? The church IS the body of Christ... I don't believe that is over... unless there is some kind of misunderstanding here.

Oops! I read these comments before but forgot to answer them! Sorry!

There are two uses of the word "church" in the Bible; one is the Bride of Christ which is made up of all the true believers, and of course, that Church will never die. The Bible says that the gates of Hell will never prevail against her. "And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Matthew 16:18

But the corporate church (the church as an institution) is never guaranteed to last. Revelation talks about dead churches and Thessalonians talks about the great falling away. So I believe that God has been calling His true people (the true Church) out of the churches because He is currently bringing judgement upon the churches.

Hey, I was starting to think you were ignoring me because you didn't wanna end up in a debate or anything. However, as past would have it (remember your old ezboard??).. you actually weren't a push-over in that area, lol. Wow, and I fully agree with you Melissa... about the churches. I used to attend a church but I left it 2 months ago because of all the corruption that is coming into light as I learn more from the Word. Glad to know there is more like-believers out there concerning this.

Really? Wow! I wasn't expecting to hear that from you either. In the churches is not the place to be today so I'm glad to hear that you left! And I'm definitely not the only one who thinks this way; there are others too! Though we are still few and far between and most would probably say we are deceived... but there are so many professing Christians today who put their faith in the churches rather than truly in the Word of God. It's so sad and scary too. Maybe when I come back to Ottawa we can get together and study the Bible together? =)

Yeah that sounds good. I actually ask some people if they read a certain verse or something, and they will say no... mainly because (I'm guessing) they spend too much time listening to their pastor/preacher and not even time actually reading the bible for themselves. I almost fell into that mistake for a while but I made a sharp turn-around before I got too far into it.
