Hello Melbournians,

A few quick tenancy questions that some of you may be able to give a quick answer to:

-if a furnishing, in this case an old CRT TV, that came with the property is broken, must it be kept on the property if it was on the condition report? I've notified her it doesn't work and she wants me to keep it here. o_O

-if minor damage has occurred due to general wear and age and not the tenant doing anything intentionally, what's the best way to go about it? I'm not sure who should/would foot the bill in this case, so I'm hesitant to notify the landlord. In case it matters, a small piece of wood has broken off the bathroom door.

-can a real estate agency legally take your rent out of your bank account 6 days before the rent is officially due?
