clothing alterations?

hey maniacs,

can you recommend any places you've had basic clothes alterations done around brunswick / fitzroy / CBD areas? it's just some simple hemming jobs but the clothes are pretty expensive, so i'm not sure if i want to trust those cheap-ish same day alterations places in town at australia on collins, melb central and the like.

Speaking as someone who sews - it is extremely difficult to fuck up a hemming job.

i'm also a sewer, but once fucked up a hemming job on something very very important. such a rotten mistake. lol. :)

I thought so too, but I got pants hemmed at AlterIt in Richmond and they did them totally different lengths. They fixed it for free, which was fine but only because I didn't have a deadline or anything.

And for point of reference for dealing with expensive clothing: I trusted them with my Marni, and I'm about to do likewise with my YSL.
