www.theage.com.au/national/public-transport-minister-lynne-kosky-quits-politics-20100118-mf66.html Victorian Public Transport Minister Lynne Kosky has quit politics.
Ms Kosky today announced her intention to resign as minister for transport and as a member of Parliament.
Radio 3AW is reporting that Ms Kosky is quitting due to health issues within her family. Tim Pallas will reportedly take over her portfolio.
Ms Kosky was elected to the Victorian Parliament as member for Altona in 1996.
She has held various portfolios in the Bracks and Brumby governments, but is best known as the Minister for Public Transport, overseeing numerous public transport meltdowns and the disastrous introduction of the myki ticketing system.
Ms Kosky was the Minister for Education and Training from February 2002 to December 2006.
She was returned at the 2006 state election and appointed Minister for Public Transport and Minister for the Arts.
