My friend recently started a trans* and queer friendly personal training business and gym based in Melbourne (Australia) but has also developed an online personal training component so its also good for anyone overseas as well. I've been working with Lee over the last couple of months and its been amazing so i thought Id spread the word a bit.

Hi, my name is Lee and welcome to SunnyGym! As a fully qualified personal trainer, I hate the fitness industry. I became a personal trainer so I wouldn't have to put up with feeling like I didn't belong in place where all I wanted to do was work out. So I wouldn't have to deal with 2 dimensional people with 1 dimensional attitudes. If you have ever felt self-conscious walking into a gym, for any reason, you are not alone. If you've ever felt bored in a gym, you are not alone. For me, it was the fact that I couldn't use the change room or dunny without feeling as though somebody was gonna call the cops. If I had a dollar for every time a platinum blonde gym-bunny stood between me and a leak saying, "you don't belong here".... I'd have enough to.... get half a tank of petrol. Most of the time it was, "The men's room is over there!" The point is I got really bored of feeling nervous about going to the gym. I really like working out, I really like feeling healthy and... I really like having fun. I've done lots of different things in my life. Mostly creative things like art, design, writing and performing. After talking to a mate, I realised that the only way of having a gym where we could be ourselves, was if I did it myself. I was recently retrenched from my job on a community radio station, and after flippin' out for a minute thought "fuck it", I'll go back to school, study hard, get all my quals and start my own business. A business I can never be sacked from for stupid reasons by stupid people. Well, it took me the best part of a year. I studied like mad everyday, got a job in a gym for extra training and trained some friends along the way. Don’t mean to blow my own horn, but a got top marks all round. Turns out I really know my stuff! So, think fun, think Rock’n’Roll, think Art, think freedom of expression, think creativity and bloody-good healthy activity. That’s what SunnyGym is all about.
