Better Late than Never

It's been a while since my last post, but believe it or not, my life goes on whether I post about it or not. I know. Shocker. So much has happened that I think I'm just going to make a list. Actually I KNOW I'm going to make a list, but I like to avoid committment.

THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED
-I didn't get into Stanford or Duke. Stanford had a 10% acceptance rate, and Duke had less than that
-I'm going to the UW!!!!!! wooo!
-I was accepted into the Industrian Engineering Program at the UW (I don't know if I'll take it yet)
-I'm a valedictorian
-I PASSED MY SENIOR SUCCESS SEMINAR!
-I went to Phoenix over Spring Break and i am TAN(it's already starting to fade, darn it all!)

THINGS COMING UP/THINGS I NEED TO DO (in order)
-reply to the UW
-look up UW scholarships for women engineers
-fill out the rotary scholarship
-take my 4 AP tests
-start my final physics project worth 20% of my grade
-Ashland trip
-prom
-graduation
-grad night
-FREEDOM

Now it's time for a prom update. No, I don't have a date. This is an update on my position regarding prom. I almost don't want a date for prom. Is that weird? Probably. The thing is, I'm going to prom because of my FRIENDS. They've been my 'date' to every KW dance I've gone to (even if there was someone else holding the title, it was really friends I was going with). You see, I am going to prom with my friends, whether I have a date or not. If someone asked me to prom but wanted me to go in their group, I would say no. If someone asked me to prom but wanted to go just the two of us, I would say no. If someone asked me to prom who doesn't get along with any one of my friends, I would say no. If someone asked me to prom who I thought would distract from the fun my friends and I are going to have in any way, shape or form, I would say no. I actually think there might be one or two people who might ask me, and I will say no to them because I could see them interfering with the fun my friends and I are going to have. I would rather go alone. I'm honestly not concerned whatsoever with having a date to prom. If an acceptable guy asks me,sure, I'll say yes. If someone who would make the night awkward asks, I have no hesitations in saying no, and I'm proud of myself for that. I feel like I ruined junior homecoming for my friends with my awkward date, and I'm not doing that again. It's stupid. High school drama is stupid. I won't tollerate it at my prom. I would rather hurt someone by turning them down than hurt my friends by ruining prom. Definitely. Oh, and I still need to go dress hunting. Time is moving too fast. If anyone finds a time machine in the next few days, would you mind switching the setting to "slow motion", for me? There need to be a few more hours in the day. Other than that, I am SOOOOOOOOOO excited for prom!
