STAFF CONDUCT WITH STUDENTS
The MSAD #39 Board of Directors expects all staff members, including teachers, coaches, counselors, administrators and others, to maintain the highest professional, moral and ethical standards in their conduct with students. For the purposes of this policy, staff members also include school volunteers.
The interactions and relationships between staff members and students should be based upon mutual respect and trust; an understanding of the appropriate boundaries between adults and students in an educational setting; and consistent with the educational mission of the schools.
Prohibited Conduct

* For non-guidance/counseling staff, encouraging students to confide their personal or family problems and/or relationships. If a student initiates such discussions, staff members are expected to be supportive but to refer the student to appropriate guidance/counseling staff. In either case, staff involvement should be limited to a direct connection to the student’s school performance.

I think the only thing in this that makes sense is the no sexual harassment of students, other than that, Its fucking BHS, for fuck-sake, half the staff lives in the area. This is why people like living in small towns and such, because you can have a personal relationship with just about anybody in your community. If one of my kids couldn't talk to me about a problem I would want them to feel free to discuss it with someone else they trust. Not have to go to "guidance/counseling staff" who would probaly have to report said problem to administrators.
How many students actually call Ms. Herbert, Ms. Herbert or Gretchen, Ms. Kimball? Is Ms. Campbell not allowed to have relationships with her childrens friends? Can I take Carla to get her senior pictures take by Ms. Bryant? Cheryl shouldn't have been feeding Herberts cats! They are having a meeting 10/30, Carla wants me to go and I think I will.
Love ya all.
