Wanted to try my hand at a fanmix... this one was nagging me for the past couple weeks and I finally did something about it. :) Enjoy. Comments are ♥

Holmes watches Watson… his partner has been distracted lately. Holmes knows it’s the fault of a woman; he knows this because Watson denies it, fervently. Holmes knew it was only a matter of time before Watson succumbed to convention, but it doesn’t stop the nagging, selfish wish that Watson could be happy with him, alone.
Secret Smile - Semisonic

And you use it only for me
It took about a week of living together before Holmes began to play pranks on him. In the beginning, Holmes tried to mask how pleased he was with himself, though Watson usually caught the little smiles and half-hidden smirks.
But those expressions were nothing compared to the grin of pure joy when Watson finally played a prank on him in return.

It’s just not me to wear it on my sleeve
Count on that for sure
Holmes is a man of thought and a man of action… but he’s not generally a man of words. Why should he use dramatic declarations to tell Watson of his affection, when it’s much easier to let his fingers linger on Watson’s arm as they walk? Watson lets his gaze linger in return, and Holmes finds that he quite likes the way that feels.

In spite of Holmes’ unceasing observations, it never occurred to him that Watson might want the very thing he wants… and that he might have been waiting for Holmes to make the first move.

Yes, Holmes can be a burden to live with. He can irritate Watson in ways the man never considered possible, but he is brilliant and clever and charming (when he wants to be) and never boring… and Watson wouldn’t have him any other way. At least, that’s what he tells himself as he tries to ignore the unsettling crashes and yells from down the hall.
