Couple of weekends ago I headed up to Ottawa to get together with the STINT team plus a few others. It definitely was a great weekend! We ended up sitting down and doing a little bit of planning for Tanzania. I am extremely pumped and extremely blown away by how much God has blessed us with a SOLID team! It is going to be great. It is really neat seeing how we are all gifted in different areas, and they are the areas that are needed while we are there.
So to introduce the future History Makers, we have (from the right) Graydon from Guelph university, Byron from Waterloo, Carmen from Carleton, and then there is me from Western! Pretty solid team, I know!
So prep has been coming along. I am at about 10% of my support which is a good start! I am really looking forward to sitting down with people and sharing with them the vision that we have for Tanzania! What is this vision you ask?! Well, let me tell you. The vision that I have for Tanzania runs in line with Ephesians 4:12 "preparing God's people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up." I desire to see the face of the University campus, the face of Tanzania and the face of Africa changed. I want to see the University of Dar Es Salaam become a sending ground in which students are passionate about God, passionate about ministry and passionate about making known the Greatness of God in order that God may be glorified. The most strategic way to acheive this is through the university. The University of Dar Es Salaam educates the future leaders of Tanzanian and surrounding countries, these are people who can change the faces of government, who can end genocide, who can eliminate poverty and help the AIDS crisis. Our vision is to see these leaders' hearts changed, to be making an impact on their countries and ultimately to be building up the body of Christ.
So I am pretty pumped to go. Still alot of planning, alot of prepping, and a busy summer ahead, so please pray that I will stay focused and that I would be a good steward of my time, but ultimately that I would be keeping right in my relationship with God! Thanks for all your prayers guys!
