Hooray! I found my cell phone! Where was it, you ask? In the boy's closet. I'm not exactly sure why it was there, but it was a bit sticky, so I'm guessing it was Alex who deposited it there.
Oh, funny thing for the day:
David and I were singing the 12 Days of Christmas. We were at the last time through, and at about 5 golden rings, I started pausing at the last word to let him fill it in. It went like this:
Me: Fiiiiive Golden....
David: RINGS!
Me: Four Calling...
David: Birds
Me: Three French...
David: Fries
Me: Two Turtle...
David: Ducks
Me: And a Partridge in a
David: Apple Tree
Gotta love the kid. He is pretty busy today. Yesterday, we came home from church to find presents on our door step, and the later that night SOME MORE people showed up with a big box and bag for each of the boys. What the heck!? You could easily see into the bags, so I let them look at those. In David's was a set of walkie talkies. Of course, he was super excited about this and wanted to open them immediately. I said NO WAY! Not tonight. Maybe we can take them to Utah on Tuesday, but not tonight. I heard all about the walkie talkies for the better part of an hour, with all the pleading and whining and "you're so mean!"s. I did not give in though! (Go me!)
So... right before dinner he comes to me saying, "Look Mom!" and what does he have but the forbidden walkie talkies. Yeah. This is exasperation at it's finest. I took them away and informed him that he would now not get to play with them until we got back home from Utah next week. This brought on all the weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. I have a lot of cleaning to do before I go, so I told him he would have the chance to earn the right to bring them to Utah (so he and Dillan could play with them), if he did 6 chores for me today. So far, he's cleaned a bathroom, picked up is room, and is currently working on the garbage. He also chose to wash windows, help with laundry and help with the dishes tonight. We'll see if those happen or not.
In the mean time I'm doing laundry, laundry and more laundry (so I can pack, of course). Then there's the tub, vacuuming, floors, and maybe the fridge if I'm feeling really ambitious. I still need to work on a new baptism certificate from the Stake and get it to Elsa too, and do some last minute wrapping. And pack the car. I'm really not sure how I'm going to fit all with all the presents. I am excited to go to Utah for Christmas though. All my siblings will be there this year, so it'll be great! :) Let's just hope I can navigate the snow storm that's supposed to be coming through tomorrow. (I'm driving up a couple days early and my mom got a ticket for Jeremy to fly in Christmas Eve afternoon)
