...IT SNOWED! In Las Vegas. On the EAST side even. The official measurement is 3.6 inches, but Summerlin and Henderson got more. We got about an inch. We even built a little snowman. My kids got a bit muddy too, as the sun was melting our little bit of VERY wet snow. So much so, that I find Clark County School District cancelling classes in all the district schools a bit ridiculous. Honestly, people It's snow that isn't going to last more than a DAY! I guess I'm really not as acclimated to Las Vegas as I thought. I was actually pretty excited to be driving through the snow going to and from the library yesterday. Most people here really don't know how to drive in it though. And I can see how being stuck on the freeway in the sleety snow, or stuck all night at the airport because of low visibility would not be fun. Still, it makes it feel like Christmas. *sigh* I wish we had a sled. THAT would be fun for the kids. I would need to get them some actual snow gloves though. And Alex a better coat - he put his warmest jacket/coat in the toilet yesterday. It wasn't the best one though, and I can't find the one I got for David a few years ago. I don't think I gave it away. Or did I? Oh, well!
Anyway - here's a little
slideshow of OUR snow experience:
welll that may have to wait.
Wow. I just realized there's only ONE week until Christmas.
That is crazy! I have no idea how this year has gotten away from me so quickly.
On the plus side, I've pretty much got all the Christmas shopping done. I suppose I ought to get some cards out though. *sigh*
I think I will be glad to just be off the plane and in Oklahoma for 10 days.
