Babysitting and Batman

So today, I went over to a new friends house for Mary Kay stuff / kids playdate.  It was great fun for our kids, who got along remarkably well, and it was nice to talk to another mom for a few hours.  Both our husbands like to play on Xbox, so we're planning to have dinner together so kids can play, husbands can play (on their xbox 360) and we can play.  Yay!  I also got a babysitter for Thursday.  (We are going to see Glenn Beck's comedy tour, Glenn Beck '08 Unelectable.  I bought tickets last month thinking it was June 18th.  It was JULY 18th.  We saw Narnia: Prince Caspian instead).  Then being smart, and probably also about as financially tight as they are, I suggested we swap babysitting sometimes.  I would have for Thursday, except the show doesn't start 'til 8, and  bed time is 8:30. It's much easier to have someone come to your house, put kids to bed and then just be there to make sure nothing bad happens.

So we tentatively planned possibly having dinner together Friday, I was thinking that next weekend we could swap babysitting.  This works well in my universe.  We go out this week and next week.

It does not work so well for Jeremy.  Apparently it is important to see Batman: The Dark Knight opening weekend.  There is a record at stake, after all.  And he has been waiting all summer.

*guilt*

Really, I just don't want to have to call someone else to swap babysitting with.   I hate calling people to watch my kids when I can't/don't want to pay them.

*sigh*

I wish finding babysitting was an easier thing for me.
