Wow. What a week. And it's not even over yet. The car is fixed. Wednesday after a pleasant ride home on the bus I called AAA. When they came I told the guy I was almost positive I didn't leave anything on to run the battery down. Despite that he discovered the battery was completely devoid of power and gave me a jump. It started right up and so I let it run for an hour just like he told me. I decided to take it to the bank near the end of that hour and when I turned the car off to go into the bank it STAYED ON!!!!!!! No shit. I could turn the key both directions and it wouldn't turn off. Actually, it would turn off in the accesories position for a while but when I got home from the bank it wouldn't turn off at all. It was possesed! In reality, my mechanic installed a faulty ignition switch a couple of months ago so he put in a new one yesterday free of charge... thank bejeeezus.
In other news, everyone I know is sick... including Oliver who doesn't really understand the whole cover your mouth before sneezing or coughing directly into my face/open mouth/ mucus membranes. I keep dosing myself with zicam even tho I'm not sick yet as a preventative. Zicam nasal swabs are the only way I can take zinc. Any other way makes me sick to my stomach... sometimes to the point of puke. I do the zicam 2 or 3 times a day instead of every 4 hours and I swear it helps. I cannot afford to get sick AND I have another series of Esoterics concerts starting next weekend. I sang the last series while sick and it wasn't pretty... we also recorded an album while I was sick. After it was all over it felt like I'd taken a cheese grater to my throat. I was sucking down my codiene cough syrup to stop the pain during recording sessions. Seriously, you try singing high A and Bs for 20 measures at a time with no vibrato while sick as hell. OMG. Never again.
It's supposed to snow in the lowlands tomorrow! Will this be the tiny urban snow event I've been waiting for? I hope so! It would be cool to come back from Stevens (I'm skiing tomorrow) to a white Seattle :)
