Well it's been a while since I have done a serious post, so I thought I'd get off my arse.
What have I been up to? Well, I visited Plymouth for a while (2 weeks to be exact) and had a good time down there. I had my birthday bash, which was damn fun. It almost didn't happen when I geard that most of the poeple I invited did not turn up, but I went ahead and I think that everyone had a good time. Thanks to all who turned up.
I introduced Tamzin to the game of Call of Cthulhu, and we all had a good game of that, with the investigators running around in the Black Hills and Boston thwarting alien invaders while trying to retain their sanity. Best moment:
Player 1: "So what do we do with this big alien device?"
Player 2: "I guess we could shoot it."
Player 3 *To GM*: "We shoot it. What happens?"
GM: "Hmm, I don't know...what usually happens when you shoot a nuclear reactor"
Players 1 & 2 & 3: "..."
Player 2: "um...it could be bullet proof"
GM: "...mmmm...yes I think it better had be."
So after I got back, I got to play with the iPod I recieved for my birthday. I also recieved an iTrip so I can now play my iPod in the car through the radio, which is a lot better than listening to Radio2 in the afternoon.
I recently bought the second series of Ghost In the Shell: Stand Alone Complex which I have been watching recently. It's damn good. At least as good as the first series. I recommend it to anyone who likes this sort of thing.
In more distressing news I found out today that Drew Hayes, writer and artist of the Posion Elves comic died back in March of a heart attack. He was 37. He had been suffering from health issues for a while, but even then his death is still a shock. I always promised myself that I would try to get to the San Diego Comic Con to meet this guy and shake his hand someday, but now I reckon that this will never happen. RIP Drew Hayes.
Anyway, that's all now.
