Good news

Good news #1 =  I did not lose any children at a hockey rink in Mississippi.
Upon my arrival at my substitute teaching assignment I found out that I was going on a field trip to a hockey game in Mississippi. The initial thought of this terrified me. I was taking 22 fourth graders that I had never seen before in my life across state lines. We were leaving at 8:40 which meant that I had a half hour to figure out who had paid and had permission slips to go on the field trip, make a roll to take with me, along with all of the other homeroom crap. Luckily, everything went great. All of the teachers were happy with how involved I was on the field trip and one of the teachers asked me to come and substitute for her tomorrow. I love this school. I have subbed there many times in the past. If I were staying in Memphis I would want to work there.

Good news #2 Met someone with great friend potential
There is this girl who was in one of my classes the first eight weeks. We began talking after I found out she works at Bodine which is a school for dyslexic children. Turns out she lived in New Orleans for seven years, and graduated from Loyola with a Sociology degree. We have a lot in common. She, Erica and I were talking after class and she mentioned that she had not made many friends here. I jumped all over that. I told her that I hadn't made that many friends either. We are going to hang out this weekend.
