The Matrix

For devonwood and the prompt: Neo/Trinity, noodles.

He's staring down at his bowl of goop with such a woebegone expression that Trinity can't help but smile. She sits down.

"Good morning, Neo."

He glances at her and manages a half-smile. It's the most she's been able to get from him in the week that he's been up and about. She tries to ignore the sudden flutter in her belly.

"Do you ever miss real food?" he says. "I mean, you know-"

She nods. "Yeah."

"I'd give just about anything for a bowl of noodles right now."

"I'd give anything for chocolate."

He smiles; a real smile.

Profiler

For m_ravensblood and the prompt: Jack/Samantha, first kiss.

Jack shoots Isaac, then puts the gun on the table. Sam can only stare at him. If she'd pulled the trigger one more time, she thinks.

Jack steps closer to her and takes her trembling hands in his. "It's alright, Samantha. There is always next time."

Next time I will kill you, she thinks.

And suddenly his lips brush against hers, and this is nothing like she imagined. He is gentle with her, his mouth is soft, and she can't help but respond.

Just as suddenly, he pulls away, and Sam hates that she wishes he hadn't.

For faith_chaos and the prompt: Sam, water.

Sam stands in the shower, letting the water rinse away the sweat and tears and gunshot residue.

Jack is dead, finally, but it does not feel over. He has been such a large presence in her life for so long that it's strange to be able to think he is gone.

She shot him, she saw him die, but she still cannot quite believe it is real.

Jack is dead, but she still feels trapped by him.

She decides, then, that she cannot stay here. She needs a new life, one without any reminders of Jack.

She will tell Bailey tomorrow.

CSI Miami

For natushka and the prompt: Horatio/Calleigh, heavy metal music.

The CD arrives in the morning mail, along with a note: Hi, Cal! Thanks again for all your help. Greg.

She pops it in the player and begins to work. It soon becomes clear that she cannot work to this music, and as she gets up to turn it off, she sees Horatio in the doorway.

"A gift," she explains.

He nods. "Gil Grissom called earlier. He was impressed with the work you did up there."

Calleigh grins. "Don't worry, handsome. I haven't been lured away by the bright Vegas lights."

"Good to know." He smiles. "You free for lunch?"
