Had a playback performance this afternoon for immigrant women who work as cleaning ladies, either working in private homes or for companies.It went quite well, I must say. Some cried when they saw their story played back, so we must have done something right. oOne of them said something that shocked me a lot when asked how it was possble to bear things sometimes: "we are all sinners," she said,"we have to suffer, if yoiu don't suffer you don't win anything".
On a lighter note, I found out that eating sardine has a sexual connotation in some countries. I had taken it literally, and the story seemed really strange, until I actually asked for more information and somebody explained the double meaning of the sentence. Then it all made perfect sense.
It was funny that in the only male actors kept being chosen to be the narrator, and I ended up playing the mean male characters. Really got a kick out of it.
