Lost myself at the bookfair today. i was fighting really hard to avoid going there but I learned there were Penguin Books at
Pó dos Livros' stand and there was also a bookcrossing stall. Plus the pollen counts were probably low and my friend had cancelled our dinner and I didn't feel like going home straight from work.
The new stalls are nice, especially the walk-in ones, but it took me a while before I finally found where their numbers were written. Luckily as I was trying to find Pó dos livros on the map I heard someone call my name. I. was there to discuss things about the book she had published and A. showed up a bit later. I hadn't seen her since december. That's one of the things I most enjoy in Lisbon: those chance meetings.
So here is what I bought: Stieg Larssen's Millenium 1 and 2 ( there were at 9,6 euros in english at the fnac stall plus the reduction from my fnac card) and i really really couldn't resist Robertson Davies' A mixture of Frailties. Pity they didn't have World of Wonders so my Deptford trilogy would be complete.
Small anecdote: as I was paying a lady comes and asks for all the books of the day. Apparently every year she goes to that stall everyday and asks for the books of the day.
