I amazingly found this book in a public library. the mythology is a bit confusing sometimes but otherwise a beautiful book.3 generations of women and how they fight for their independance.The story of Alofa's aunt who goes to New Zealand and then renegates her culture, changes her and her children's names to english names,remonded me a lot of the portuguese immigrants when I was a kid. I had a schoolmate who did not want me to speak portuguese to her because she did not want anybody to know her origins.
