So long and thanks for all the fish
Like many people following LJ breaking itself in the face, my decisions on whether to stay or go are all up in the air at this point. This post is mainly so I can make some sense of my choices myself, as well as let people know what I plan to do and find out what they're going to as well.
I am going to keep all of my LJ journals and I think it goes without saying that I'm not going to just up and drop all my threads and leave PD or what have you. I have, however, nabbed all the DreamWidth equivalents of my LJ usernames (and was very chuffed that none were already taken) and created a musebox there.
Here's my main point: I will still play on LJ with anyone who would like to, but I am making DW my preferred base of RP! So if you have DreamWidth accounts please play with me there instead of on LJ. I refuse to play on IJ because their shitty layout inspires some sort of irrational, wrathful vengeance in me, I don't even. I'm still going to keep checking my LJ Flist, too - I'd hate to miss out on what's going on with the people who stay.
For me it's not even the lack of subject lines, the ugly designs, or the removal of anything remotely functional. Those things are huge kickers but it's more the notion that LJ didn't listen to it's users and I don't trust it not to fuck up further in future. Also DW has a whole host of fancy features that make my heart flutter are pretty damn cool.
