Fest challenges and their authors!!
Okay! Below you will find the list of authors and their assigned challenges. Even though the finished products won't be seen until April 9th, I am posting the assigned fics publicly for all to see. I wanted to give you all a taste of what we can look forward too!!! Everyone who sent me a challenge is represented at least once. Fics were assigned randomly, I had someone pick numbers! lol.
Based when Michael and Brian are about 17 or 18 and just about to graduate, Brian's dad goes after Michael because he knows both boys are gay - and he blames Michael for leading Brian down the wrong path. (Think of when Justin's dad went after Brian) Only Michael was alone and there were no witnesses. Michael is hurt pretty badly (ends up in the hospital) - and fearing for his life, he begins to pull away from Brian. Brian doesn't understand why his best friend is suddenly nowhere to be found, and Michael won't tell anyone, not even Debbie what happened. What does Brian do to get his friend back? Remember in Season 1, after the birthday party from hell, Brian and Justin were eating ice cream after sex on Brian's chaise lounge chair. In this scene they talked about Michael and Justin said, "You must really love him." In Season 4 we saw Brian getting rid of (and Justin eagerly helping) his black leather chaise lounge chair by donating it to the house for HIV+/AIDS infected people. Write me the story about how this came about; did Justin demand Brian get rid of the chair after all this time, because everytime he looks at it, uses it, etc., he's reminded of the time when after sex it was Michael on Brian's mind? As for the ending - take it wherever you want to go; does Brian confess to Michael about the events around the chair? Does he suffer in silence and stare longingly at the empty space his chair once was? In this fic Michael feels immensely guilty because he talked Brian into getting the surgery. Needing to get away from it all they go off on a road trip together to a secret place that only they know about, maybe it's cloe to Harmony Lake? (refer to "The Space Between" by LaurAnn) The happy memories from their special place allow both Brian and Michael to heal, rekindling their love and friendship.---The tone of this fic could be serious or romantic. What if he destroyed everything in his path, including his own ability to get past what happened? …And, what if, since Brian wasn’t there to help him growing up and he didn’t learn how to both believe in himself and protect himself from the harshness of reality, Michael became incapable of self-preservation? What if he didn’t have a superhero? What if he was on a downward spiral, hate and pain consuming him so that he can’t see past it to anything else? What I would love to read and haven't yet run across is a story where Michael has been considered 'King of Liberty Avenue' during the time that Brian is away at college, maybe he goes under a different name and then cools it when he knows Brian will be back. Then forward some years later Brian finds out his 'Mikey' was king and would also love to see that it is Michael that Justin goes after and gets not Brian and his reaction to not getting Justin. And hopefully from there it will open Brian's eyes to how he feels bout Mikey that he loves him. (issued by JC)

He meets a young trick who reminds him Michael and for whatever reason they don't have sex but do become friends. After the trick gets to know Brian and Michael and their relationship, he decides to play Cupid for them so these two idiots will confess their love for one another and make David go away!
