so it's been awhile.
an update: If you didn't already know, i live in prague. i share an incredible flat with devon and two other fellows, miroslav from slovakia and husseyin from turkey. i teach english, and i think i do a prety decent job. it keeps me extremely busy during the week, and i work very early in the morning which keeps me in on the weekday evenings for the most part. my city is vibrant and beautiful and sometimes even mystical. i have a lovely girlfriend from slovakia, who is brilliant beyond compare. she speaks so many languages i cant even keep track. she understands my spanish, and often throws in some french. ive seen her writing in hebrew and arabic, and i've heard her speak fluent german, czech, and slovak. oh and she speaks english too. she studies anthropology (hot!) and keeps right up with me on my history ramblings. she is also a bit older than me (7 years) but i have only dated women older than myself, so its really nothing new. prague keeps my nights busy when i go out, and i have some great friends here. nathaniel came and visited, and aside from being able to attest to my extreme business, i think he also saw just how great my post-uni life is. much like devon, i think ill be staying here for rather longer than i had originally intended, though i still have a deeply rooted wanderlust. hopefully ill be going to krakow soon, and i have also visited munich, nurnberg, dresden, vienna, and budapest, as they are all within a short striking distance from prague. i should really explore more of the czech lands, but there is plenty of time, and the praske jaro has just sprung. as for learning czech, it is a slow and arduous pursuit, but tereza, my girlfriend, has promised to help me, in addition to throwing me bits of slovak as well and improving my german here and there. i can hold a pretty simple conversation, and i even fooled some czechs into thinking that i was one of their own, but this is do rather to the fact that i have little difficulty mastering pronunciation, but a world of trouble learning grammar and vocabulary. ive been thinking of course about what i should be doing with myself beyond teaching, and the only things that have stirred me will take a bit of work. one idea is to become a tourguide, as i would love to get paid to yap about history and art, and the other is to become an illustrator. but these are both horizon undertakings. anyways, it took a great deal of concentration to even write this much, and its about all i can muster.
