Fourth of July weekend in Philly is great... I was walking down the street and just saw some amazing fireworks just by chance..it was almost like they filled the whole city sky. They were all bright and colorful and made my day, well re-charged my batteries after a looong day. Went to Live 8, it was awesome Will Smith sang the theme song to Fresh Prince and it was like all one million people there were singing along. I think it was the highlight of concert, other than the drunk women falling all over themselves at 12:00 in the after noon right next to us. I am not going to lie it was VERY crowded but that was only for like the first two hours of the concert. After that people started to disperse and we got our own little comfy spot. Maroon 5 of course sang there three singles..its like play different songs...Bon Jovi played Livin on a Prayer and it took my back to London New Years when everyone was singing along in British accents..perhaps one of my favorite London moments..Then after being outside for six hours in an ok spot we decided for Stevie Wonder to walk up to the front...where we could actually see the stage...we did and it was great..sans the creppy old man in front of me...all in all a good event and it was worth the heat and hunger.
Tonight I am going to head up to the same area and watch Elton John, Rufus Wainwright and Patti Labelle...which is prob be a piece of cake after the craziness of Live 8...and see some more fireworks..its weird actually watching real fireworks after a month of doing a play about Fourth of July and trying to make Theatre fireworks.
