I don't know that I will continue to maintain my LJ account, given the things I read here: http://lynnenne.livejournal.com/285076.html

As long as the servers were in California, we had some rights and recourse if those rights were violated. Once the servers are in Russia, not so much. Not to mention they could delete journals, assume copyright over your stories, etc.

I don't know what to think, but I'm worried.

I've never considered anything posted to the internet as 'safe or secure' so nothing about this shocks or surprises me.

What did is having a president elect that vocally encouraged hacking. Um....

I'm so glad we have AO3 to post our stories on.

Yeah, I haven't really posted any stories to LJ in a while simply because of convenience of Ao3. :-)

I've hesitated to switch completely to DW because a lot of my friends haven't. But I've seen quite a few people post and say they're moving there completely - so I might set up crossposting, so I can have both worlds. At least initially.

Same here. I have a paid LJ account for a few months still and an awful lot of communities over here. I'd like to run Romancing McShep again, and Selenic and I have Story Works, just to name a couple.
