Year's end review
Because 2015 has been full of ups and downs, and because it's been a long time since I've done one of these.
I didn't think this was a very good writing year for me so I was surprised to see that, including one wip, I've written almost 48,000 words in 2015.
Getting Coin Toss finished and posted was huge for me. This was an idea I wanted to write for almost five years. By far the oldest work in progress I've ever had on my plate.
The above word count also includes my 10,000 story for this year's
sgareversebang. I finished it well ahead of time and it's off to beta.
I'm running
romancingmcshep Valentine's Fest again this year. It pleases me to no end that there are still others out there that love this pairing.
On a more personal level, I decided to take dieting seriously this year. I lost 30 pounds. It took a year but I've kept it off. I still need to lose another 10-15 but that's not going to happen until we get past the most recent family crisis. Still, this was huge for me. (ha! pun intended) I've been trying to switch over from calorie counting to mindful eating. Er...not so much luck with that.
But hey, if anyone's tried that and it's worked, please share.
I've managed money better this year. Like many of us, money is a paycheck-to-paycheck deal for me. It takes a fair amount of frugality for me to save up money for Squee Weekend. I think, as long as nothing evil happens, it's going to be easier to do this year. Ah - now I've probably jinxed it. That's like mentioning getting money back on your income tax in front of your kitchen appliances. *crosses fingers*
I've connected with family more. There have been a lot of early morning (oh god, give me a minute to pour my coffee and put my bra on) video chats via google hangout. It's been a fun way to see the grand kids that live too far to visit very often.
Oh! I have a new standing desk and I love it. 2016 I'm shooting for a privacy filter for my work monitor. Well, how else do you expect me to write porn at work??
