so, but to keep on it while i'm on it though. my last memory of this shed before coming back here is a mouse jumping on me when i opened one of our toy boxes to look for a particular halloween costume my grand-maman had made me. I don't know where anything of my mom's is, and i didn't get to pick through any of it myself which like... i know i was a teenager but fuck, i hate it every day.
I looked for the leaf for my dining room table and I think, as I suspected, she did use it at the cottage and sold it with the thing. Because ours only had one leaf. It doesn't actually come with two.
So ultimately what does the fancy teak furniture mean?? I don't even know if I should read into this at all, like maybe it just is. They are selling the shed, after all. And 20 years later, I wouldn't expect any of my mom's nice stuff to be in any decent condition having lived in that shed anyways! The pieces we did decide to take are generally free of mouse poop (I say this... loosely speaking, considering). I can't imagine anything with like... fabric or cushions surviving even a winter.
So the fact that I walked away with even three frames from Mom's??? Is kindof a huge deal. and then there's a haunted coffee table, and a super nice credenza, and a kid's bedroom settled basically... i'm grateful for that bit.
Anyways I guess we'll see how the next year or so goes? Might be a wild ride? McKenney just announced they'd "consider running" for mayor, which kinda leaves Shawn in a position to continue being a shit-disturber keeping everyone's feet to the fire and that suits me. My contract is technically up in April and I'm not sure what's up with the person I'm replacing quite yet. We have a few months to figure that out thought and I'm sure we will, but in similar news, I might babysit again soon??? For some older crotchgoblins, like, near teen age turtles!! Would be so nice and interesting!!
