So it's been ages since i've written in here, but i'll try to make a quick yet fulfilling entry.
New York City has turned out to be more or less exactly what I expected. Plenty to do. Lots of walking. Fantastic atmosphere. And you can buy pretty much anything anywhere. It feels like home. Scratch that. It's like a really good good good version of Miami, with a bigger diversity of people (not to mention much friendlier than what I expected/am accustomed to), and in some parts, 20x more rushed than Downtown Miami, as well as way cooler looking. The houses (even the ones you can tell people that have lived here all their lives wouldn't really want to live in) are all very cute, and it really makes me want to move here even more. Mmmm. We've been staying in a hotel in Queens very close to La Guardia airport. The flight was frightening, to say the least. I did my best to sleep the whole way through. There was turbulence at a few points. Egh. Thursday was spent roaming Manhattan (Times Square area) and the village. The village is probably my favourite place right now. It's beautiful. It's definitely where i'd want to live. Shopped. Friday we went to try to get on Conan (no luck =*( very sad) but then we went to Coney Island. That was great. Real nice beach and the Cyclone is the greatest. Went back to the village for a bit too. Yesterday was the epitome of all that is good in my life though. Field Day Fest. Crazy and incredibly cold and it fucking rained almost the entire way through. I caught about a song of 2 of Liz Phair, 1 of Beth Orton, 1 of Gemma Hayes (who i'd never heard but liked), all of Thursday's set (it was fantastic), some of Underworld's set (who made me want to dance like crazy), half of Bright Eyes (I have fallen back in love with Connor), most of Blur, Beck didn't play for some reason =*( , all of the Beastie Boys (they were fucking fantastic, i danced the entire time and it stopped raining by then so it was real good), and then. . . the most amazing performance i've ever attended in my entire fucking life and sorry to rub it in but goddamn. . I was left stunned the rest of the night. . and to be honest, the $80 was well worth it JUST for that close to 2 hour set. . . RADIOHEAD. Oh my fucking god. I danced, I sang along, I screamed and jumped around and was brought to near tears. Wow. Thom York is fucking AMAZING. Ugh. Seriousely, though. I won't go on about that, though. After that, I just wanted to get back to the hotel, or die happily somewhere. Woke up late today. Can't find my new Pixies shirt. Things are alright. Oh. I also got my industrial finally =)! If anyone know any words of advice on maintaining it, let me know. It still bothers sometimes, but hey.. in the words of Jason - "the things we do to look cool". Heh. Today I think we're going to Chinatown. I also want to find a dress. Need to go to Central Park as well. Much to do. And still haven't even hit any of the regular tourist attractions. Will be seeing They Might Be Giants tonight as well. And also maybe go to a club after. Life is good. After being not so good. Lesson learned, though. I don't think I can move out with anyone. I'll have to live on my own. Which is alright. Just need to start working some more hours and whatnot. I'm sore. And I need to go. And I think I was able to get enough in to this entry. I'll write once i'm back in Miami.
