Ack...yesterday was entirely enjoyable. Alia came over around 10:30 and we prepared ourselves (both physically and mentally) for a day at the mall! Everything was running on schedule until we were pulling out of the driveway. I put my left blinker on to turn towards Narrow so we could pick Amanda up when all of a sudden....*Clickclickclickclickclickclick* My blinker was going crazy. I knew that meant my back light had burned out. Luckily, Rey had given me a spare one the last time this happened so I just pulled it out of the glove compartment and put it in. Of course there was much confusion as to how exactly one installs a back light, but in the end I figured it out and we were on our way, only ten minutes late.
Well, we picked up Amanda and I made the perilous journey down her driveway of doom and we were on our way to pick up Yifan. When we got to Yifan's house I beeped on the horn in several quick successions (in the most annoying manner possible). A moment later, her head appeared at the window, peering through the curtains at us and waving. As she ran out the door and got into the car she informed me that it was "real classy" of me to beep instead of coming in to get her. *laughs* Hey...that's how I treat all my ladies....
So, after I picked up my check and whatnot we were onto the highway of doom, where we had a very scary run-in with a mack truck and a white knuckled drive over the bridge. (I hate bridges...) We arrived at the mall to see it packed and had to park way the hell out by the side of JCPenny. We were famished and decided to hit the food court first. I went to Wok Express, Alia headed towards Sarku Japan, and Amanda and Yifan milled about for a while, undecided as to what they wanted to get. Amanda finally decided on Burger King and Yifan decided she wasn't hungry. Crazy girl! So we ate our lunch and Alia went off to the ladies room, asking if anyone else needed to go. We all informed her we were set, but about two minutes later, all three of us decided we actually did have to use the bathroom. Strange...
Well...after that we went to Old Navy where I tried on many things without much success. I wasn't very impressed with the sales going on. Alia and I are just jaded now that we're used to paying $1.97 for everything we get at Old Navy. I did finally find a pair of pants for 17.99 (they were white and khaki stripes with turned up "cuffs" and a yellow belt) so I figured I'd get those because I desperately need pants. No one else found anything so we decided to head to H & M. Oh...what glorious, glorious things we found at H & M. They were having a "30% off already existing clearance" sale. Considering most of the clearance there is under $10, I was in shopping heaven. I found a pair of red courderoy pants (I later returned the other pants to Old Navy), a red and pink polka dot shirt, a blue tank top that says "Arundal Teashop", and a red hair tie thing. All of this was purchased for $19.50. $19.50!!!! IT WAS AMAZING! Alia found this really pretty green and gold dress that she's going to wear when we go clubbing this summer and she later bought some gold flip flops to wear with it. She also got a purple tank top, I believe. Yifan and Amanda found things, too. H & M is the best store...
Let's see... After that we walked around for a bit. We got Dip n' Dots and saw a boy wearing a kilt and combat boots (very lovely). We later took a picture of him, but I don't think he noticed. After that we went to JC Penney, tried on prom dresses (hilarity ensued) and then walked about the rest of the mall. I got a shirt at Charlotte Russe (black and white polkadots with a drop-neck) for $4.99. We left around 5 because everyone was getting tired.
After I dropped off Ali and Yifan, Amanda and I went to Hope Valley and got Subway and rented Mean Girls. I loved that movie. Especially the line "That's why her hair is so big. It's full of secrets!" *laughs* All in all, it was a very good, fun day. We laughed alot and listened to good music and got some great clothes. I love my friends.
