Pimpty-pimp-pimp-PIMP!
So I went to the mall to hang out with a friend whom I haven't seen in a while and, of course, we wandered into the bookstore. Well, I've been chatting with so many amazing authors online lately my head is about to explode. To share my joy, I wanted to show my friend some of the books they've written. And here's what I found:
Ilona Andrews: top shelf, 2 or 3 copies of Magic Bites, pulled one out so it faced out : )
Wen Spencer: none of her books were there!!!
Diana Pharoah Francis: none of her books were there either!!
Brandon Sanderson: 1 copy of Elantris, 2 or 3 of Mistborn which I faced out, and 1 of Mistborn 2 (whose name eludes me right now)
Patricia Briggs: mulitple books by her, though no Hob's Bargain
Katie McCallister: no copies of her books!!
As we were checking out, we mentioned that a few vital names were missing!! (See above list.) And the person turned out to be the manager and he wrote the names of the authors and books down saying that he had to make sure he kept the names his customers wanted in stock (I didn't tell him I own all of them)! Then we got into a discussion on fantasy and sci-fi novels and he wrote down everything I suggested as he'd never read any of them. Then he offered me a job! Hahaha... if I could go part-time at minimum-wage, I would. But as it is, I'll have to settle for making more and working more. *sigh* Such a hard-knock life.
I told him that some essentials were Tinker, A Brother's Price for some of the most unique fantasy/sci-fi stories; Elantris was one of the best stand-alone fantasies; The Path series one of the best epic trilogies (which he said are his favorite); Magic Bites is great future fantasy for it's wit and sarcasm; The Hob's Bargain is one of my fav stand-alone fantasies that's shorter; and although a romance series, the Aisling Gray series is too fun not to read!
I've decided that I should either be all of your agents or at least get a cut for each book sold at said bookstore. ; ) I guess I'll settle for snippets online and getting to get to know the person behind the pages!
Oh- then I got peed on by a puppy and bit by a parrot. So much for karma!!
