A Moment of Squee about Diana Pharoah Francis
So, I know I have alot of LJ friends who are writers (whom I all love), but there is just a special place in my fangirl heart for Ms. Diana Pharoah Francis. Well, we've become friends online and me, being a begger, teased her a while back that if she let me beta read The Black Ship, I'd write her a glossary. And she did!! And I did!! And the world was a happy place...
Now the book comes out in a few weeks and I have a friend who is a reader for Penguin and lo and behold... she got The Black Ship! The book, let me show you it:
Isn't it pretty?
I love how RoC is using the white background. Ms. Francis' first series, The Path series, was one of the first to use it for their company and it is definitely catching on. But in skimming through the book, my friend found my glossary and little ol' me mentioned in the aknowledgements!! I'm completely squee about this and hope you all go out and buy the book!! Here's her complete line-up. And if you like a strong fantasy adventure, you will definitely love Di's books as much as I do!!
The Crosspoint Chronicles
There is a third book, The Turning Tide, but the cover isn't out yet. Ms. Francis is working on the final edits now I believe. :) Also, I believe that there may be more in this series. I seriously hope so. It's a very unique set-up. Each book is chronological in order, but there is a different main cast in each one. Their lives and actions affect one another greatly, but it's fun to get to see different aspects of the world she has created and see how the actions in one part of their world effect the other.
