So... the baby may or may not be coming out sooner than my Aug. 30th due date. I was suppose to be at 36 weeks today and I had an ultrasound today to confirm that the baby has turned and that I am no longer breach. And sure enough, she has; However, the US tech had some interesting news. First off, the baby is hairy. I mean, lots of hair. So any doubts about this being Daniel's baby are out the window. Second, she's BIG. AT 36 weeks she should be just about 6 lbs. -- She's 7lbs., 4oz. putting me somewhere closer to 38 weeks.
While it's great that she's big and healthy and growing well, they're slightly concerned b/c 1) I am measuring normally and on target for 36 weeks, but she's growing much faster than that and 2) they are worried if I go full term, the baby could get too big, which isn't healthy for either one of us. In good news though, my amnio fluid levels are good, so they're not worried that she is outgrowing my belly. This also confirms that I am all baby as I've only gained 11 lbs. thus far and between her and the placenta and fluids, it's all baby weight.
So what does this all mean? Well, next week I am scheduled to start seeing my main OB every week until I give birth. She'll probably do another ultrasound next week and discuss with me options, such as inducing me, so Miss Evie could be here in less than 2 weeks. If things are looking OK though, they may see if I just go naturally.
I wish I had more definitive answers, but I don't. Next week I will have a better idea. Daniel says it's my fault b/c I keep trying to rush her out of my womb -- He's probably right. I'll keep everyone posted...
