Another Monday. Today it has been rainy which is good for a lot of things but not so great for others. It means I don't have to water my parents' grass while they are on vacation, but it also means that I cannot work on my doll faceup comissions becuase of the moisture in the air.
I think everyone has had the days where during their commute (if they commute to work, like me for instance, 17miles in approx 40min) where they see something that they probably wished that they hadn't, or didn't have to see. This morning not too far from home actually, not even 2 miles over the Dallas city line traffic slowed down and as you came upon the reason you could see a woman on a cell phone waving people to get over into the other lane. And as I pull closer in the middle of the traffic lane there is a person on the ground unconscious, a woman in scrubs trying to wake them a wheelchair and another woman who was probably a witness. From what I could gather, one person or someone that drove off hit the person with their car, the lady in scrubs seemed to be a nurse probably on her way to work, the wheelchair was a pristine unused thing, still partially scrunched, I'd assume the nurse had it in her vehicle (some inhome patient care nurses and the like do have them handy) and pulled it with ideal that if the person was conscious and able to move that she could help move him off the street with the wheelchair. As I pass by I can hear the one random woman pointing and telling the other ladies that the firestation is just a block away on the other side of the highway and as I came around to the overpass for the highway there went the ambulence. Usually when you see things on your way to work you notice it becuase or you notice emergency lights which are sometims covering the situation. This is one of those few times I've seen something before help arrived. I don't know who the three women were but I commend them for their efforts and the next stop light I hit I said a prayer for the unknown man's wellbeing. Driving in Dallas for seven years I think I have prayed for several people I've never nor will ever know in my lifetime. This was another of those days...
Had to be serious there for a minute. It was one of those rare things that happens every so often that you just really remember and can't forget about. The rest of my work day was fairly blah. It went alright, cept I was achey from stupid woman cramps all day. Home now and trying to figure out what I want to eat...I think I've given up on conning L into making me something so I guess I need to go ahead and fend for myself.
