catching up

To sum up the recent highlights of my life. We went to the Gladys Porter Zoo two weeks ago. It was a really interesting experience. I thought I was going to be upset seeing animals locked in cages, but I wasn't. I actually found out that many animals that are near extinction take refuge in zoos.
I finally was able to see a meerkat up close. They are fascinating animals. Some of my favorite animals to watch are they gorillas, jaguar, lions, chimpanzees, meerkats, and snakes. The gorillas were particularly fascinating. I think we differ from them by 3%. Erik, my boyfriend was standing near one of the gorillas; they were separated by a glass window. Off guard, the gorilla turns and sees Erik up close and was startled. He look like he was going to break the glass, but he turned away instead and took off in the opposite direction. *LOL*
A couple of days ago, we found a kitten. We were in the parking lot at my car when we heard a shrill meow. The kitten meowed as if someone was torturing it. So we decided to see what was wrong with it (it was across the street), so we run over there and it turns out she was just scared. I picked her up and immediately she began to cuddle with me. With Deb's permission we took her home. She's very affectionate, but tends to meow A LOT! We may need to find her a home. She seems to be an indoor cat, and we can't keep her indoors. Any takers?
