Hello World,
I can still smell the formaldehyde! YUCK. We dissected a pig today. Although it was interesting I feel that these macro-type of dissections should be reserved for upper division bio majors only. They waste baby pigs by allowing freshmen, no less non-bio majors participate. More than half of the people do not care. This type of experience should be a privilege. This would also help conserve the baby pigs. BTW, they come directly from the slaughterhouse, so if they are not used for other things such as education, then they go to waste.
:o( They may not be able to approve funding for the environmental project in time...so I may not be paid. I really need the money so I can reimburse myself for the summer classes I am taking/will be taking. I may stick with the internship for the experience. On a lighter note, my biology problems class will be starting soon. I am going to be looking for an effective technique to measure primary production for sea grasses. Because, the sea grasses will be drifting, this will be a challenge.
I can't wait till I am able to do some actual microbiological research. The whole point of transferring is to hopefully land an opportunity to participate in the research program at UTSA. There are two areas that I'm interested in, one relates to cancer and the other relates to virology. *crosses her fingers*
I wish there were more ppl that have the same general interests as me and are pursuing a science degree of some sort. Besides Ganelle and I, I don't know of many other people (in the flesh) in the underground scene who are passionately into the sciences.
There is a flyer for Dismantled on Corpusmusic.com. If I'm not in New Mexico, hopefully I can go to that. That's also only if i don't have class on Monday.
