Hermione looked up from her pile of books to glare at the girl she saw in front of her.

"Excuse me but could you please keep it down?" She asked, she grinned but there was ice in her eyes.

She threw a cold glare over her shoulder, looking back to see who had made the comment.

Oh. Of course. Granger.

"Not particularly, no," she replied coldly.

"Then perhaps the library is not the best place for you," Hermione responded curtly with a glare. She pushed her own books around and made no pretense this time.

Melanie simply glared back at her, blinking blankly. "Do I honestly look like I care whether you think I should be here or not?"

"It look svery much like you don't want to be here anyway, so why bother?" Hermione bit back referring to the girl's entrance.

[mel___]

"Am I supposed to look forward to extra work?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.

"you are supposed to be respectful to those around you." she snipped. Her concentration was broken now and Hermione feared the girl had set her back a half hour.

"You might try fixing your own attitude before reprimanding others," Melanie shot back.

"My attitude was fine before I was so rudely interrupted." Hermione bit back acidly.

[mel___]

"I don't remember asking you to pay any attention to my entrance," Melanie said cooly. "You brought the distraction upon yourself."

Rolling her eyes Hermione responded, "Oh please, the way you threw your books down was begging for attention. Now please go away and leave me alone so that I may study." She turned back to her work, ignoring the other girl.
