Don't look now, but a course mate of mine had 2-3? unfinished wisdom teeth pulled earlier this month, so I think I'm very, very lucky. Also, I've only had one previous hole in my grown-up teeth.

Ah. I was lucky in that we were given flouride tablets in school and also that I haven't binged on candy all that often (mostly due to my high cholesterol, so it's not as if my character is all that strong). Also, while my teeth aren't all that straight, they're not crooked enough to warrant loads of dental work. And, my wisdom teeth are hurting just thinking about any removal. Though, not sure teeth can think, as such. ;-)

We lived out in the country, so I didn't get exposed to much flouridation -- I had no idea tablets were ever given out. Also, I had an insensitivity to novocaine, and the dentist refused to believe that; he thought I was just "being a baby". So I went through a lot of pain *and* self-doubt as a kid. Thank goodness my present dentist is so much better with people than that old sadist from my youth.

Ah. Well, to be honest, I have no clue whether flouride tablets were given in other countries than my own. But, ouch.

Sorry about the head cold ... the only consolation is that you're in company with a whole lot of other people, which isn't much consolation at all.
