So, it turns out? FFXII has some serious controller issues. You are supposed to be able to open the party menu within in the first half hour. The FMVs are supposed to be skippable. And there is an option to go back to the title menu within the game.

Guess what DOESN'T WORK...I am so prepared to never play this game. And so pissed off about it ( Read more... )

What, you mean you don't want to spend more time bored and watching movies than fighting monsters when you play a game? Heaven forbid!

It's exactly that which turned me off from Final Fantasy X. I stick to the cartridge-based FF games. hehehe...

I like the movies, usually. But when I'm trying to get a damned game where the party menu works, I don't want to watch the entire damned set up over and over again!

Besides, what fun is killing monsters if you can't use the skill points you get to buy new abilities and crap?

Phf, it's not your fault. It's just shoddy compatability issues, as far as I can tell. (And in fact, I'm loving the game itself, I'm just annoyed I can't enjoy it to the full here)

I'm going to start messing around with dance controller pads, my brothers controller's, possibly borrow your copy to see if it's an issue with my pressing of the game - might be a defective disk or something. Whatever it is, when I am not PMSing quite so badly, I shall hunt down the solution! But right now? is Bedtime :D

(In other words, don't you guys dare be sorry you got me this game! XD )

Yeah, I'm feeling this way about the game too.

On the other hand, the only reason I even bought a PS2 is because last fall I became a convert to the Church of Guitar Hero.

Guitar Hero is a good reason :D I only bought mine because of Kingdom Hearts (Which I wanted to play no matter how bad it might be XD;; ).

I just would have expected them to make sure it worked, what with all the time and effort that went into it! I find I'm a bit disappointed in Square. Sigh.
