At the same time, there are competitions like National Puzzles competition or the World puzzle championship and Topcoder
Which are of high repute in the problem solving fraternity & hence it is no surprise that companies like Google, Yahoo, Sun & others sponsor these events.
What a lot of these companies do not do, though, is thoroughly evaluate say the top 10% of the candidates.
