so now there's two empty seats...
and i don't care what time magazine says... the decisions the court makes do affect the country if only in a symbolic sense. and maybe that's the only way that matter anyway...
i dunno... people seem certain that because bush chose a man to replace a woman... he'd better be choosing a woman or a hispanic to replace rehnquist.
it's like affirmative action up close and in your face.
when reagan appointed o'connor it was because he wanted to make a splash... it just so happened that at that period in time for a woman to have become a judge she had to be three times as qualified as any of her male counterparts. but i want to see women in high places... and I don't know what to call that but distrust. and there's no glazing it over either...
