Tiger & Bunny: One-shot

Note: Takes place in a hospital
Bright blast, some words said and wetness of his cheeks were the last things he remembers. Some words he knew he would never get back. Other words that came out when he got slightly distracted before finally blanking out. What those finally words were he couldn’t remember. Wetness on his cheeks and mumbling from his partner were among those fuzzy memories.
The old man stirred. He wasn’t sure what was on him or where he was at. The fabric against his skin now wasn’t his power suit. His helmet and mask destroyed by the blast. That didn’t explain what was around his forehead now. He could have lifted his hand to feel what was on him, but why waste the effort. That didn’t sound like himself either. His body felt heavy and dream-like.
I can at least try to open my eyes, he thought to himself. It was a fight to even open them, instead tried to focusing the his other senses as well. There was more mumbling around him. Feminine voice chittering non-stop. Several other male voice somewhat arguing. Another male voice only a bit away muttering the same words over and over again.
“Kotetsu-san.”
If he could move his facial muscles, he would smile. Right by his side, where he wanted him to be. His right hand felt heavy. Okay, regaining some feeling, he thought. He seemed to not have much control over what senses he could control at this point. Man, I must have fucked myself up big this time... I must not have been as cool as I thought I have been. The weight that was making his hand heavy was two objects, as far as he could tell. It wasn’t weight, as much as squeezing. Bunny-chan, lay off. I’m fine.
“Kotetsu-san!” The other voices around him hushed. He fluttered his lids a bit, barely opening them. It was the best he could do. Several figures blocked the light.
“He spoke, didn’t he?” a deeper voice muttered.
“He did! Kotetsu, can you hear us?” asked one of the feminine voices.
“I-I think I can?” Barely a murmur passed through his lips. He began to speak again, “Is everyone her--” His words were cut short. A warm wet feeling brushes against his lips. They seemed to be a bit chapped as well. He knew the smell of that shampoo of who was kissing him. He opened his eyes a bit more to see glasses and a few strands of golden hair blocking his vision. He felt that feeling again when he had passed out. A few tears had dripped onto his cheek and trickled to the lips that were mashed against his own.
His initial reaction would have been to freak out or make a joke to lighten the mood. That didn’t seem appropriate or even possible in his current condition. He knew he would have cause his partner stress, but for Barnaby to express his overwhelming relief this way meant that Kotetsu had really done something. He decided to go with the flow of the moment and returned the kiss with a bit of a nip. The blonde hero momentarily deepened the kiss before breaking away. His glasses were smudged and eyes red from crying. Even though his vision wasn’t perfect, he could tell the younger man was blushing as he jumped to his feet. Kotetsu gave a weak smile, “Good to see you too.” Barnaby stammered off.
“Barnaby Brooks, that’s no fair!” That voice was definitely Karina’s. A few snickers came from the others in the room.
“I take it that I am still alive?”
Another weight jumped onto the bed and cuddled up close, “Yeah, you are dad.” Kaede nuzzled her wet face into his chest
“Welcome back! And then Welcome back!”
“Good to see you, big boy~”
“Knew you would pull through, buddy.”
They were all there, waiting for him to wake up. A worried daughter that waited as well, who now had jumped back down and into Karina’s arms. An even more worried partner that now shifted uncomfortably in the corner.
“Bunny-chan?”
Barnaby walked back towards Kotetsu. “Do you know what you put us through? Do you know what you put me through?”
“Bunny...”
“Don’t go off and do something stupid like that again. I trusted you...”
“Bunny, just lean over here.”
“Why would you do that to me? I could have killed you!” He just wanted the man to shut up at this point. He sat up surprisingly, and silenced the his partner with the exact same move Barnaby used earlier.
“I’m here now, Bunny-chan. That’s what matters.” Kotetsu whispered softly, stroking Barnaby’s curls. Barnaby restarted the kiss, keeping his arms closely around Kotetsu’s body.
“Don’t leave me again.”
