On a related note: The slow ping issue and the internet provider meltdown are only part of my current internet trouble. My roommates and I have somehow managed to exceed our bandwidth this month. We're talking about setting up a devoted file-transfer server and letting it do torrents and things between 1am and 8am (or off-peak hours, during which our allowed bandwidth is nearly double what we have during the rest of the day). Anyways, our speed's been cut back a bit until the end of the pay period, throttled if you will, but not nearly as bad as the other day. It's not so bad, most sites are pinging around 100 milliseconds instead of 20-50, which is much better than the 1,500-15,000 milliseconds kerfuffle.
