Personal Statement
I have always been fascinated by History, as I find it very interesting to examine different cultures and discover how different circumstances affect each other. I am particularly interested in social history and the roles of individuals. A very early interest in reading historical fiction, coupled with visits to historical sites, such as Blickling Hall, Hampton Court, the Chateaus of the Loire and the Hofburg in Vienna, has inspired me to research the lives of individuals such as the Tudor queens, Catherine de Medici and Empress Elisabeth of Austria.
Obviously, I'm applying to do history. Any thoughts? Advice? Instructions to throw my computer out of the window right away before I can write anythong even worse? All will be welcomed.
