STEP ONE
- Make a post (public, locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your journal. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your journal, so that the holiday joy will spread.
STEP TWO
- Surf around your reading list/friendslist/dreamroll (or friendsfriends/network, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
This Christmas I'd like...
1) Not really a Chrismas exclusive, but I really, really would like to see any bandom band in concert. (Does MCR go through Dallas/Ft. Worth at all?) I don't even care if I don't get to meet the band, just as long as the concert is somewhere in the near future (we'll say, sometime before next Christmas). I NEED MY BANDOM CONCERT CHERRY POPPED. XD
2) Ryan/Ryan fic. I'm tired of reading my own!
3) A way to download music for free now that Limewire shut down I MEAN WHUT. Someone recommend me some good music. Please have downloads for me on Mediafire or something? I'm dying here. (BTW, I don't have the entire Brobecks album, Violent Things yet…) Now I do! Thanks, Morgan. *squinty-eyed smile*
4) Someone to bounce ideas off of/inspire me/mediate my crazy ideas/keep me on track/help/etc. for a story I want to write (and I'm talking full blown, original fiction novel here, not fanfic.)
5) RYAN ROSS, MOVE TO CANADA WITH ME AND MARRY ME. PLEASE. I KNOW HOW TO USE A MICROWAVE, A DISHWASHER, A VACUUM CLEANER, AND A WASHER AND DRYER. I LIKE ANIMALS AND SUNSETS ON THE BEACH. YOU NEED ME. No, I'm not crazy. As it says in the instructions, this is just wishful thinking. :D
6) A life, kthnx. No really, I need something to do with my life that isn't being a total waste of space all the time.
7) Metalocalypse Season 3 on DVD!
8) Maybe someone who can look over some of my long-overdue WIPs and give me some feedback so I can finally finish them?
9) GIVE ME MONEY.
10) Fashion advice, idk. Gtfo, Ryan Ross, I see you lurking.
BTW, my email is the same as my username at yahoo, if you don't know how to find it in my profile.
Okay, I'm so lame I dunno what I want for Christmas. So there. Also procrastinating my English paper like a mofo. It's due Tuesday and it's only half done. Oi.
